Contemporary Master Bathroom

A plain bathroom was transformed into a glamorous retreat with a wall of marble and crystal tile and the addition of a simple contemporary bathtub. Crystal and pearls shimmer on the light fixtures and chandelier to create the perfect place to relax at the end of the day.

Project Overview:

Our client built her home in a large gated community and wasn’t able to customize the bathroom. She was allowed to install her own light fixtures, tile and other items after closing but the builder insisted on installing a large corner tub which she was told would fit a 6ft 4in man! Because of these limitations she had a basic bathroom installed and planned for the demolition the following year.

We ripped out the corner tub and installed a contemporary free-standing tub and faucet. At the same time we tiled the floor in Carrera marble and installed a full wall of marble mosaic with crystal inserts. We also created a long niche for soaps and shampoos. The walls sparkle day and night reflecting light around the master bathroom.

The walls were painted in a mid-grey tone and a stunning large-print Ikat patterned wallpaper was installed in the separate water closet. Floor to ceiling sheers soften the window.

Ceiling height framed mirrors are broken with dimming vanity sconces that match the chandelier and have alternating pearl and crystal chains, and the shades are made of luxurious organza with a touch of gray trim for a tailored finish. The existing door knobs were replaced with cut glass pulls that add to the glamour.

This is now a bathroom designed for leisure.
