Castle Rock Interior Design Firm Wins International Design Awards
Easton, Md. — Heather Sheridan, owner of the Decorating Den Interiors franchise serving the Castle Rock area, won four separate design awards in the company’s annual Dream Room design competition.
Her design of the a local Community Center that hadn’t been updated in more than ten years was judged First Place in the Commercial Category by interior design journalists and editors from throughout the U.S. and Canada. Heather also won First Place in the Donayre Award Category. This is a special award category voted on solely by her fellow franchise owners of Decorating Den Interiors in the United States and Canada.
Her design also was judged second-best from among 46 rooms in 12 categories by design professionals who have achieved Decorating Den Certified Decorator status. This was a special judging for those who entered the annual competition for the first time.
Additionally, her room won a People’s Choice design award being judged third best in an online public judging of 326 room designs in 12 categories that drew thousands of voters.
“My design featured a special community center located in the beautiful Pradera Area of Parker Colorado. It was a pleasure and an honor to create a fresh outlook for this community center; providing both function and a defining beauty for all to enjoy. I loved the challenge of maximizing the multi functions required of this space. With wonderful suppliers to support my design ideas; I was able to execute. I would like to add, the Board of Directors were such a pleasure to work with.” Sheridan explained.
Her awards were presented during the company’s 36th Dream Room Awards Ceremony. It was held via a special international video conference that replaced the company’s normal annual conference, which was not held because of the Covid19 Sheltering-in-Place. There were more than 200 participating online.
Decorating Den Interiors was founded in 1969 and has interior design professionals and decorators throughout the U.S. and Canada. “We offer our clients fine furniture, case goods, accessories, lighting, floor and wall coverings, draperies and other hard and soft window treatments,” Sheridan said. “We bring samples directly to the client’s home or office, provide complimentary design services and personally oversee projects through installation.”
