2020 Dream Room Award
It was no surprise to learn that the 51st Decorating Den Interiors Annual Conference was held as a Zoom presentation but it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm for the honor of winning an award for the Dream Room contest. This annual favorite gives the interior designers from each franchise an opportunity to submit their professionally photographed projects. Each project is judged by a panel of shelter magazine editors from publications such as Elle Decor, Traditional Home, Veranda and several more.
Heather entered a commercial project where she updated a community center. Commercial interior design projects don’t always attract the judges but Heather hit the jackpot! She was placed 1st in the Commercial category.
Before & After
Heather was then placed 2nd with a Patti Award where judges look at the work of designers entering the contest for the first time. To her surprise, Heather was then awarded 3rd place in the People’s Choice. The People’s Choice is where the general public are asked to vote online for all the Dream Room entries. Lastly, Heather was honored to receive the Donayre Award where the entries are voted on by one’s peers – other franchisees – and is named for Carol Donayre Bugg, ASID, retired company Vice President and Director of Design. An amazing day!
